To be honest, I don't LOVE the NAS system I have set up; for whatever reason I find it occasionally slow to copy songs to disk, and there's a lot of quitting and relaunching Apple Music when it re-routes the library to my laptop's hard drive, rather than the NAS. But I was having trouble finding portable drives large enough for my purposes, and the benefit of the NAS is that it's got a built-in backup. (I already once lost a huge chunk of my library to a dead hard drive; don't want to risk that again.) It's not ideal, but it works...
Oh man I was breathlessly waiting for a tid on how Philip organizes those terabytes of offline digital music files!
