Vanessa Palacios has worn many hats at Adult Swim over the last 17 years. Her current role is Director of Production, Creative Production, where she produces short-form content and oversees video production needs for AS linear, digital, and events. She is an empathic leader and attentive listener who loves putting all the pieces together. In her free time, she enjoys getting “out of the office,” and getting back to nature and volunteering in her community.
🎯 Pop-Tarts
I’m wrapping up a couple of big projects before I start my next adventure. I've been working in partnership with Pop-Tarts on some custom content. We had a peek at their crazy good characters during our event, Adult Swim Festival on the Green, in San Diego in July.
🌳 Woodsist Festival
I’m excited to be back at the Woodsist Festival for the second time as a volunteer. There’s a wonderful lineup in a beautiful location. The ability to be present for all artists in an intimate setting has been very inspiring to me.
🪩 “when the party’s over”
The song “when the party’s over” by Billie Eilish has been on repeat since the blue moon. Waking up and seeing her live performance with Boygenius in London made me melt. It’s empowering to see your favorite artists having fun, embracing friendship and family, and staying grounded.
🕉️ Mantra of the moment
One mantra I’m currently focused on is “I know that I know nothing”, a quote from Socrates that I wondered upon during a stroll at a Rosicrucian library in my hometown.
🎠 Jessi Baker
I look up to people who are carving out their own path and roll the dice. Jessi Baker is a charismatic, attuned nurturer, and all around lovely human being who is passionate about artist relations. She’s taken her talent to Woodstock to help find ease for traveling musicians and artists in this area. Her plan is to find like minded collaborators and establish her business called This Traveling Circus.
👻 Ghost tours at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre
Fall is my favorite season and I’m looking forward to the Ghost Tours at the historic Fox Theatre. I’ve been volunteering there for a little over a year and I missed out last season. I love learning the building’s history.
🎥 Movie theaters & live music
My favorite way to consume content these days is through live music and movie theaters. They are medicinal––they have the power to change your spirit and transport you to another place in time.
